What questions should you answering with your Social Media Content
When creating content, it is important that you are not always pushing sales as your audience will get bored and this will result in less engagement on your social media platforms.
What you want to be creating and posting on social media is content that is useful to your audience, examples of content like this are posting information about what is happening in your industry which your audience would be interested in. For example for a travel company who offers walks this could be content ‘the top 10 walks in the United Kingdom’ even if this content is not from your website this will result in higher engagement on social media as your audience will be interested in reading more and will keep you in their minds when they are looking for a business that offers your products or services.
The second best content which is good for posting on your social media platforms is what other people are saying about the product your are selling or service you are providing this will increase your trustworthiness as your audience will see what your current customers or clients are saying about your business and will hopefully result in an increase in customers who are interested in you’re the product or service you are offering.
Free Tools to help you create content for your social media platforms
Canva is a fantastic tool which has a free version and a paid version, but personally I have found that the free version of Canva is enough for creating content for social media. If you want extra features the premium version of Canva costs around £10 per month, but if you are a registered charity you can get Canva Premium for free. Canva has the content formats for each of the social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn) and also has a ‘Social Media’ template which I have found to be great when scheduling content onto multiple platforms at any one time. Canva also has templates which you can use and edit to create fantastic social media content. Click here to access Canva
Hootsuite is a great social media scheduling tool which will help you to schedule your social media content. Hootsuite like Canva has a free version which is limited to 3 accounts (which is enough platforms for small businesses) and enables you to schedule 30 posts at any one time. However, if you have more social media accounts and want to schedule more posts you will have to pay for Hootsuite which is around £25 per month.
